The long awaited summer is already here. The summer solstice kicked of the start of the season with 17 hours of pure blissful sunlight and you bet I was out to enjoy every bit of it. I am not a fan of heat, but I do love me some sunshine goodness and I thought I'd share with you what I wore to bask in the rays of "first day of summer". I wanted something lightweight but wanted to stay covered up as well. You never can predict the British weather. Summer or not, it can rain, snow, and hail anytime so I wanted to be a tab bit prepared. I paired this lovely boohoo bow top with a lightweight lace skirt. Bows and floral prints have been all over the shops and catwalks this season and I am loving it, so I figured why not pair them together?
What I absolutely love about this skirt is the "african lace" style design, it reminds me of Nigeria where it is always sunny (w..ell.......more like blazing).
For accessories I went with my favourite sunglasses, which I believe marks the occasion quite well. I wanted to also add more colour so I went with the turquoise mini bag with gold detailing. To finish it of I added a simple gold bracket.
What earrings did I wear? Well a pair of simple plain gold earring of course.
When you are going out to have fun, heels don't always work. I learnt that the hard way. To compliment the outfit and choose a pair of shoes fit for the occasion, I grabbed a pair of minimal white sandals.
And there you have it. My outfit for the summer solstice. I hope you enjoyed the day and sunshine. I'll also like to wish my wonderful sister a happy birthday as she was born on this day the 21st of June. She always brightens my day. I love you loads 💖💖, and to her bestfriend Tobi who was born two days before, happy birthday to you too hun.
Let me know what you think, what did you were on your first day of summer?
