I'm going back to my afro roots guys. As mentioned in my previous post I am going to explore the fashion industry a little more and play around with different styles. In this week's post I styled this look with some african print accessories. I have been loving the idea of mixing prints lately, and what better prints to use than the original african prints themselves. As term starts are around the conner I thought I'd style this smart casual look with some print accessories, and dear I say, I liked it. I liked it a lot.
One thing I that I have learnt about mixing prints is to find a constant colour in all the prints. This outfit's constant is blue. Blue stars on the bag, blue background on the bangle and blue rings on the necklace. This colour keeps the prints unified. The earrings however are black and white which are also a constant in the prints.
If there is anything I am coming to terms with recently, it is to be proud of who you are. I thank God that I was born a Nigerian. I am also happy and thankful that I was brought up in the United kingdom, but most importantly I thank God I am reborn into the family of Christ. All these shaped me into the woman I am today. Every culture and country has it's good and bad, but God did not make a mistake when he gave you to your family. No matter your skin colour, your country of birth/up bringing, or Lineage, know that it is all to make you who he has called you to be.
"For I know my thought towards you, thoughts of good and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope". Jeremiah 29 vs 11.
during the post shoot a little buggie decided to make an appearance. If you look closely at the other photos you might be able to spot it. I am not a bugs person. In fact I can't stand them. Ladybugs, However, are an exception. If funny how it's the very bug that has the word 'bug' as part of it name that I can stand.
